Mela Year Round

Moving into 2013 and beyond, the Edinburgh Mela intends to build on the success of the education and outreach work undertaken as part of its Engage Programme. Since 2009 , The Mela Engagement Project Manager has worked closely with diverse communities throughout Edinburgh and Central Scotland, co-ordinating and delivering an extensive year-round programme which has incorporated local and international artists and arts organisations. The Edinburgh Mela Engage programme has included collaborations with local schools, further education colleges and universities, as well as charities and many different BAME organisations. A variety of valuable partnerships have been forged with organisations including Scottish Natural Heritage and Forestry Commission Scotland, who have become two of the major funders of the Mela Children’s and Families area.

Our two main areas of year round programming for 2012 are Shared Territories and The G-Code Project, and we’ll keep you updated on a number of other upcoming projects here.
