Mother India 21st Century Remix aka MI21, is a live film soundtrack performance that re-scores, remixes and re-imagines the iconic early Bollywood film ‘Mother India’.

Lead artist and principle composer is award-winning British Asian DJ and electronic artist, DJ Tigerstyle and his band. The tour will be produced and managed by Kala Phool who conceived and created the project.

MI21 is a dynamic and beautiful musical and visual synchornisation of DJ Tigerstyle’s new score with visual artist and editor Josh Ford’s powerful silent remix of the original 3 hour film; combining together into an arresting 45 minute performance. David Shaw is on Drums with Matt Constantine on Cello and Keyboards – together the band create a new legacy to an iconic film.

Heralded as India's ‘Gone with the Wind’, Mother India is the original Bollywood epic. Considered by many as one the most important films in Indian cinematic history it was the first South Asian Film ever to be nominated for an Oscar.
The significance of Mother India cannot be under-estimated in it's influence over India's cultural and artistic landscape and has remained fixed in the collective Indian psyche, handed down from one generation to the next. Laying the foundation for today's all-conquering Bollywood phenomenon, Mother India also powerfully captures the struggles of ordinary Indians, who's themes of loss, hardship, redemption and hope seem as relevant today as they ever were.
